Ed Lazar
        President

Ed has more than 20 years of experience managing wealth for families of significant means. Prior to taking overall responsibility for Threshold Group’s integrated wealth management services, he served as a partner in Arthur Andersen’s Family Wealth Planning practice and headed a regional tax services group of some 65 professionals. His experience is particularly deep in estate and income tax planning, investment advisory services, and the complex governance and succession issues of family-owned enterprises. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Personal Financial Specialist and advisory representative. BS/BA, Valparaiso University.               > Back to the Top

Cathy Reeves         
        Chief Operating Officer

Cathy joined Threshold Group in early 2004 and serves as its Chief Operating Officer and as the relationship manager for a multi-household client family.  She has more than 15 years experience in financial management and client service.  Prior to coming to Threshold, Cathy was the area controller for the Weyerhaeuser Company for Washington and Oregon.  In the 1990s, she was the finance manager for Milgard Manufacturing.  BA in Business Administration, Western Washington University.

David Rosenberg         
        Chief Investment Officer

David oversees Threshold Group’s investment advisory services and manages our office’s team of investment professionals. He works closely with family clients and heads Threshold’s strategic relationship with Russell Investment Group. With more than 25 years of experience in financial services, he joined Threshold in January 2008 after serving as CIO and managing director with Citigroup’s US Private Bank. There he directed the team responsible for integrating investment strategy, asset allocation and wealth advisory services. He also sat on the bank’s Global Wealth Management Investment Advisory Committee and provided market commentary as a strategist appearing on CNBC and CBS Marketwatch. Earlier in his career, he ran the Ultra High Net Worth and institutional consulting practices at Merrill Lynch. Philip T. Platt
        Director, Investment Operations

Phil Platt oversees all operational aspects of Threshold’s investment advisory services. As a member of the firm’s Leadership Team, he works closely with the firm’s investment advisors and relationship managers to ensure the seamless and efficient delivery of investment services to Threshold’s family clients. Phil joined Threshold in May 2009 after serving for five years as COO of a Registered Investment Advisor in Bellevue, Washington where he was responsible for strategic planning, operations, compliance, and human resources. Prior to this, he spent six years with Microsoft in marketing strategy and business management roles. He has also worked in the corporate strategy group with Sprint Corporation and with a single family office as VP of Operations. BS in petroleum engineering from the Colorado School of Mines; MBA from Cornell University.

Brian Hughes
        Managing Director, Strategic Relationships

Brian is responsible for building and cultivating family relationships that fit the personalized client service model at Threshold Group. He creates new business relationships with select families across the United States and maintains close working relationships with industry leaders and strategic business partners in the family wealth management industry. Prior to joining Threshold Group in 2008, Brian was managing director for Pitcairn, where he led the family office’s business development efforts on a global basis. He has more than 24 years of experience in the financial services industry, including 15 years with Lincoln Financial Advisors. Chris Carnahan
        Talent Director

Chris Carnahan is responsible for attracting and retaining talented associates to work at Threshold Group. She oversees human resources, benefits and payroll administration, and manages many of Threshold’s office administrative functions. Chris joined the organization in July 2001. Prior to joining Threshold, Chris was an administrative manager at Frank Russell Company, served as personal assistant to Jane T. Russell and managed George Russell’s administrative staff for nearly four years. Her experience includes more than 20 years of private and public office administration. Chris Phillips                  
        Managing Director, Marketing and Communications

Chris is responsible for marketing and communications at Threshold Group, LLC. He also works closely with the organization’s sales and service associates to develop and maintain successful client relationships. He joined the organization in April 2006. Prior to joining Threshold, Chris worked 11 years as director of public relations at Russell Investment Group. Prior to working at Russell, Chris was communication manager at the Port of Tacoma, and he spent 10 years as an editor and reporter for community newspapers in the Pacific Northwest.
