Stewardship in Action
Wealth managers doing our part in the community. And then some.
It’s in our DNA. Our commitments to community service and to making a difference in our world are as deep as the legacy that started it all. Our founders George and Jane Russell understood the blessings that had been bestowed upon them and worked tirelessly to give back time, money, and muscle to the communities, the foundations, and the people who were important to them. And they encouraged others to give back as well by offering time, talent, or whatever they had to share.
Threshold Group Volunteer Days
Staff Volunteer Days are designed to get us out of the office and into the communities where we live. We respond to pressing needs from organizations that matter most to the people who work at Threshold Group. The mix of staff volunteer activities can range from building Thanksgiving Day baskets and buying and wrapping holiday gifts, to organizing infant supplies and assembling donated bicycles for families in need. From 2013 to 2014, Threshold Group averaged 100 volunteer hours per employee.
Threshold Group Community Service Committee
Our Community Service Committee brings volunteer financial literacy training to young people in our community. We partner with community organizations such as Financial Beginnings and apply lifelong learning, leadership, mentorship, and team-building skills to empower young people with financial skills that will benefit them for the rest of their lives.
Based in Portland, Oregon, and expanding in Seattle, Financial Beginnings teaches youth and adults to take control of their financial future. Educational programs incorporate all aspects of personal finance to give individuals the foundation they need to make informed financial decisions. Threshold Group supplied the first wave of volunteers for the Seattle expansion.
Our Philadelphia office supports Community Partnership School by bringing interactive lesson plans into the classrooms. Philly associates teach students about building business plans, minding budgets, and other skills through activities that draw from aspects of the popular TV show Shark Tank.
