  • The U.S. Agency for International Development will launch a development data library in the coming months to more easily capture, share, and visualize information from employees, non-profits and contractors in 85 countries.
  • Bill Gates announced Breakthrough Energy Ventures, a $1 billion fund that will invest in clean energy innovation. The investor-led fund is made up of members of the Breakthrough Energy Coalition.
  • PepsiCo has announced it will restore and protect a handful of watersheds in Latin American countries in which it operates.
  • B Lab, in partnership with B the Change Media, has announced the honorees of the 2016 Best for the World Funds, celebrating 50 impact investment funds that have created exceptional social and environmental impact.
  • Toniic released their T100: Launch “Insights from the Frontier of Impact Investing” at the recent GIIN annual Investor Forum. T100 is a multi-year study of over 50 portfolios in Toniic’s 100% Impact Network members.
  • TPG Growth and Elevar Equity have started the Rise Fund which will invest globally in several different areas. The Rise Fund will be collaborating with the Bridgespan Group to create tools to help measure investments’ social and environmental returns. The Fund was founded by: Bill McGlashan of TPG Growth; singer and activist, Bono; and Jeff Skoll, former eBay president.
